Does your library use Apocalyptic Fiction and Post-Apocalyptic Fiction subjects? I only use Apocalyptic Fiction and I also tag post-Apocalyptic works with this subject. I understand there is a difference...
apocalyptic — “of, relating to, or resembling an apocalypse”
post-apocalyptic — “existing or occurring after a catastrophically destructive disaster or apocalypse”
I am wondering if you find it's a hair worth splitting. (Katharina, I'd be curious to know if libraries paying for Keystone's cataloging services get books tagged with Apocalyptic Fiction and/or Post-Apocalyptic Fiction.)
Hi Dan! Fresh from Florida, we have
1. Science fiction - Apocalyptic, Post-Apocalyptic. This catches the MARC data Apocalyptic fiction.
2. Science fiction - Dystopian, Androids, Robots. This catches the MARC data Dystopian fiction.
Let me know if that helps, and yes, we do have the cataloging services! We do a lot of review of each record in the MARC loads, New, Completed, BARD, and Marrakesh.
